I. School mentorship

The AWOCHE school mentorship programs are currently implemented directly within school settings. This strategic approach allows our mentors to engage with adolescent students on their home grounds, fostering a supportive and familiar environment.

Through targeted sessions conducted within the school premises, our mentors address a variety of topics aimed at enhancing academic performance, improving retention rates, and equipping students with crucial life skills. II. Power mentorship Holiday Boot Camp.

The Power Mentorship Holiday Boot Camp is designed as an intensive two-week program aimed at empowering students with the skills and knowledge to drive positive change in their communities.

Through immersive mentorship sessions, participants are equipped with the tools and confidence to become influential leaders and catalysts for transformation. Upon completion, graduates receive a certificate recognizing their commitment to personal growth and their potential to make a meaningful impact.

I. Family planning

The AWOCHE Family Planning Program is a comprehensive initiative focused on community sensitization through various channels, including community outreaches, radio talk shows, and forums. Our objective is to reduce unintended pregnancies contributing to maternal mortalities and to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding family planning, fostering awareness and understanding within the community.

Through these efforts, we aim to encourage both men and women, as well as girls and boys, to access essential services and information available at health facilities, promoting informed choices and empowering individuals to take charge of their reproductive health.

II. Menstrual Hygiene management

AWOCHE's Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) program entails practical training sessions conducted within both community and school settings. Through these sessions, participants receive hands-on education on menstrual hygiene practices, emphasizing the importance of proper hygiene and dispelling taboos surrounding menstruation.

Additionally, we facilitate the distribution of various menstrual products to enhance access to MHM information and services. Our goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to manage menstruation hygienically and with dignity.


AWOCHE actively engages in HIV awareness sessions for both students and the broader community, focusing on prevention and response strategies. These sessions encompass educational components and discussions, guiding participants on preventive measures and appropriate responses.

Furthermore, we facilitate referrals to healthcare facilities for various cases, ensuring individuals have access to testing, medication, and counseling services, thereby contributing to comprehensive HIV prevention and care initiatives.

IV. Mental Health

At AWOCHE, our commitment to mental health extends to providing both group and individual counseling sessions within school settings. Our team of trained counselors offers dedicated support to our community and parents, guiding individuals through challenges and promoting emotional well-being.

Additionally, we conduct awareness sessions on mental health, fostering understanding and destigmatizing discussions surrounding mental well-being.

In our maternal health initiatives, AWOCHE is dedicated to supporting pregnant adolescents by facilitating access to antenatal and postnatal care clinics through referrals. We provide crucial assistance in parenting and emphasize the importance of ANC (Antenatal Care) visits. Our overarching goal is to create awareness about the significance of regular ANC visits, ensuring the well-being of both mothers and their unborn children.

Teen Moms

The Empowered Mum Teen Mom Program involves implementing mentorship initiatives for adolescent mothers, both within school and in out-of-school settings.

Economic Empowerment

At AWOCHE, economic empowerment stands as a cornerstone of our community-focused initiatives.
